Karenpark Shopping Centre

Energyworx has been assisting the developers of the Karenpark Shopping Centre in Akasia, North Pretoria with project development and management of a solar PV installation for the centre.

The Goal

Energyworx was consulted to assist the Karenpark Shopping Centre developer in negotiating the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract with the chosen renewable energy installer for the installation of a solar PV system.

How This Was Achieved

This objective was made possible through the installation of 384kWp of PV solar panels feeding solar power generated into three 100kW Huawei inverters. In addition to this solar system, Neura Smart Metering devices were also installed to make further measurement and analysis possible.

Project Outcomes

Since the commencing of negotiations in May 2021, the PV solar plant went live at the beginning of March 2022 allowing the Karenpark Shopping Centre to generate electricity through the newly added solar PV system.
